My Background
Throughout my years as a young adult, I volunteered as a tutor at local elementary schools in Pasadena, CA. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television and English at The George Washington University in Washington D.C., while also participating in the work-study program as a teacher's assistant.

Upon returning to California, I earned my Multiple Subject Clear Credential from Cal State, Los Angeles, and my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Cal State, Northridge. Each of these programs has helped me establish my foundation as a teacher across multiple grade levels and school settings. Prior to opening my tutoring service, I taught the third and fourth grades with LAUSD and later, a local charter school. I also served as a preschool teacher in the neighborhood school attended by my younger son.
My Focus as a Tutor
I have been tutoring in the San Fernando Valley since 2018, working with families from Golden Valley Charter School and LAUSD.

I have experience with numerous English Language Arts programs including The Lost Tools of Writing, BYU online high school, WriteShop, Collections, and Journeys. Likewise, I develop independent strategies to support and encourage reluctant readers. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your family as well.
My Commitment to You
I tutor in all elementary subjects, as well as English Language Arts and ESL for all levels. I strive to develop enthusiasm among my students, so that they are motivated to complete their best work and continue their learning beyond our sessions.

Feel free to contact me for a session. I'm happy to work one-on-one or with learning pods/small groups. We can discuss in-person meeting options at a Los Angeles Public Library location nearby for $55/hour or virtual meetings on Zoom for $50/hour.
